Wow what can I say? Hollie & Adam’s Indie wedding Duke Studios Leeds last weekend was amazing – full of laughter, family, friends, four grandmas! (which meant four great grannies for their gorgeous little boy), an awesome indie playlist, the most incredible urban Leeds backdrop and a venue full of soul..so much love. A day that was truly built around them, taking the little pieces of tradition they love and creating something very special indeed. Their ceremony was written together with their celebrant and there was so much love in the little yard where their humanist service took place. The theme tune to Jurassic Park played on the cello just before Hollie walked in, setting the tone, and they had really thought about how to include their little boy in the ceremony too – a celebration of family and love. Capturing a sense of family and community was where I was at during the day – the laughs and tears in equal measure, people sharing stories of history and heritage.
One of the most interesting things about the day was their food was provided by The Real Junk Food Project, Armley Cafe in Leeds – all of their dishes are created from waste food that would have been otherwise thrown away. In the cafe people are invited to pay what they can, in both money and with skills too. Dinner was absolutely delicious, and so inspiring.
The confetti throwing outside the Sheaf Street cafeteria was so much fun, right under where they had displayed their names and wedding date, what an amazing little touch! These guys had such a laidback attitude, and were well up for a little exploring of the environment around the venue to create some relaxed portraits of them together, against an urban background that made my photographer heart squeal inside! 🙂
A family portrait with your four great grandmas. How precious this image will be to him in years to come….
What a day! I think I must have danced all the way home….Thank you so much for having me Hollie and Adam, I can’t wait to send the rest of the images to you soon!

Time means nothing
Say that you’ll stay”
