Alexa Loves : London to Brighton Cycle Ride

Today my husband Daf, brother in law Matt, his girlfriend Diana and a group of friends cycled all the way from London to Brighton - I have so much respect for them. Last weekend I cycled 10 miles and had sore legs...I can't imagine cycling over 50 miles! I was at the finish line, excitedly waiting for them to arrive. Congratulations guys - I'm so proud and what a way to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Today was the perfect opportunity to get to grips with my new camera.  It's a Nikon D7000 and is just lovely to use, but is quite a lot more advanced than my old D40.  I also have a 35mm 1.8 lens to play with - fun times! (Unfortunately I was so excited when they finally appeared on the horizon that I lost any ability take any photographs and shot ones of the floor! How rubbish am I?! They cycle 50 miles and I can't even press a button!)  These images are unedited, as I still have to learn how to photoshop but I'm pretty pleased with the results straight out of the camera.

Attention, very cute dog alert: Nat and Jamie's gorgeous little hound is called Slinky! I fell in love with her and her gorgeous yellow collar!

I just adore spending time in Brighton, couldn't help but soak in the sound of the sea and have vinegary chips on the stones.

Arriving home at Victoria station, loving experimenting with shutter speed!
