Edd and Claire : Cornwall Wedding Photography

I've been really looking forward to sharing Claire and Edd's wedding on my blog - it was in Launceston, Cornwall at the beginning of July. I hadn't met them before the big day as they live in Geneva but had chatted to them on Skype and already thought they were awesome, so friendly and really fun. The wedding took place in the house where Claire grew up and her amazing dad and lots of friends and family had spent ages preparing for the wedding, laying down matting in muddy fields, sorting out generators, lots of jobs....her dad even built a shower and toilet block for all of the guests who were camping! I think this brings a new meaning to the DIY wedding!

When I arrived slightly bedraggled after driving through a flood (!) Yes, a flood, to get there, I was greeted by a very smiley and happy Claire - which set the tone for the day! Rain? Wear wellies! Mud on your wedding dress? Dance harder! There was just so much love and joy from everyone in the room, I was buzzing for ages afterwards! It's turned out to be a rather epic blog post, but there was just so much loveliness! :O)

My kind of bride...

A short drive along some beautiful Cornish lanes later...the girls arrived at the church in Launceston.

And off to Launceston Railway for a little surprise for their guests....eee a steam train ride! :O)

Claire's dad had a great time driving - choo choo!
The next six photos were taken by my second shooter for the day Michelle Waspe - she's an amazing photographer from Bristol and I absolutely love working with her.  She shot all day and has taken some great images to pass on to Edd and Claire, so I just wanted to say thank you so much Michelle!

Whilst Michelle was shooting candid photos of guests and the gorgeous little details of the station I snuck off with Ed and Claire for some couples portraits - because of the weather we didn't have one big session rather a few mini portraits throughout the day!  How romantic are these two!

And on to the reception - at Claire's parents farm, teepees, tractors and happy times!

Probably the most enjoyable group photos ever! Fun times.

And then...the sun came out for 10 minutes! A total gift of early evening light. Claire and Edd's spontaneous sun dance was a joy to capture on camera and summed up what a wedding is- love, laughing, dancing and enjoying...

And do these guys know how to party..... Beginning with a roast dinner (it was amazing!) where one person from each table was chosen to carve the meat and wear a chef's outfit...then the most beautiful speeches and some amazing dancing right through until morning!

First dance = I've Got a Brand New Combine Harvester... incredible! I've never seen a bride and groom leap around so much!

All of a sudden, late in the evening, people started appearing on the dance floor eating pasties....I guess it's not a Cornish wedding until these bad boys are brought out...delicious!
