Hitched Breakthrough Wedding Photographer Award 2012

Yay! I just wanted to write a blog post to say thank you so much for all your support over the last year - I was absolutely delighted to find out at the beginning of November that I had won the Hitched Breakthrough Wedding Photographer 2012! 

It meant so much to me that so many people voted and it feels like the icing on the cake after what has been a very exciting and special (and hard!) year.  I couldn't have done any of it without you - my gorgeous customers, family and friends, fellow photographers and random internet folk - you are all amazing. Thank you so much for being my inspiration.

On Wednesday I was in the Hitchin Advertiser...really quite exciting - except that I didn't realise until my friend Lee posted it on facebook...so I had to get Daf to rescue it out of the recycling at 11pm!

It was such a lovely day when I got my award- the team from Hitched came over to my house (I know, how lovely is that!) We had a cup of tea and Dean presented me with my award in my garden, super lovely!  We then cracked open the champers at 3pm, glorious.

But if I'm doing an Oscar type speech, I think the biggest thanks has to go to these two lovelies...my constant support and team - my husband Daf and Kitty the kitten, you are the BEST. I love you.   (I took this photo on my phone - after the champagne glasses were empty and the Hitched team had gone home we settled down to watch a film together...its the little things in life.)

I know things have been quiet on the blog recently, and I haven't finished sharing all of the beautiful weddings I shot in the summer but they are coming I promise! There are a couple of very exciting magazine features in the pipeline and some blog features too.....and also I'm launching my new website in January, eek.  So here's to reflecting on the journey and looking forward to 2013.  I'm just going to take a little bit of time out first for a rest and a recharge but I'll be back soon....
