Preview : Daniel & Alex's wedding at Mitton Hall

On Friday I headed 'up north' to Mitton Hall for Dan & Alex's wedding day - it is such a beautiful venue and has a really relaxed and homely vibe. They met at primary school and there were many great stories and emotion during the post dinner speeches.. It was an honour to capture their celebrations, their guests and the little moments that tell their story.  Dan and Alex had thought of so many little details to make the day theirs - including festival style wrist bands, Lego people table favours and a photobooth, so awesome! What I loved so much though, was that even though they'd spent a lot of thought and effort on making their day look great, and of course they wanted these details captured (which we did!) but that the part that made my heart beat faster, was when they told me that the most important part of their wedding photography to them was capturing the moments, the candid natural images.  What a gorgeous day.

It was a little rainy and windy during Saturday but we were given a little gift of Autumn light just in time for the portrait session so we went for a little explore of the grounds and captured them spending some time together.

"Fall is here, hear the yell back to school, ring the bell brand new shoes, walking blues climb the fence, book and pens i can tell that we are gonna be friends I can tell that we are gonna be friends

Walk with me, Suzy Lee through the park, by the tree we will rest upon the ground and look at all the bugs we've found safely walk to school without a sound"

White Stripes (as sung during their ceremony by Dan's brother Liam)

And we all know I'm a sucker for a natural group shot - I just adore all of the different connections going on in this picture without anyone looking at the camera :)

Its raining? Nevermind, grab some of your guests,  run outside, form a small circle and THROW! Loved  this confetti sooo much!

"I don't get many things right the first time,
in fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns the stumbles,
and falls brought me here
And where was I before the day
that I first saw your lovely face,
now I see it every day
And I know
That I am the luckiest"
Their first dance was The Luckiest by Ben Folds - one of my favourite ever songs, and I have to admit I was singing and crying a little behind my lens, just so much love between these two! Congratulations to Dan and Alex - thank you for asking me to capture your day, I wish you many happy years together :)

Dan is a designer and did an absolutely incredible job designing the little details that decorated the reception - Alex is an optician so glasses were a theme, really fun! Incredibly Dan built an awesome photo booth for the guests to enjoy at the party, it was so impressive!

Couldn't resist jumping in the photo booth with Dan just before we left - a massive thanks to Lel Hurst who was second shooting with me on Saturday!
