Alexa Loves : Keswick, Lake District

Last week we spent our days relaxing with our family in the Lake District, in a lovely little holiday apartment in Keswick.  The perfect retreat - no mobile phone signal, no Twitter or Facebook, news, or heavy traffic outside our window.

Instead we enjoyed peace and quiet, birds, good company, fresh air, home cooked dinners, a walk up Latrigg, fish and chips, kayaking on Derwent Water, rain, good wine, good books : 'Home' by Bill Bryson (I think I drove everyone mad with the amazing facts I insisted on reading aloud as I found them!), two birthdays and a long drive home. Love.

Here are a few images from my phone camera, I heart the Instagram app.

The last shot makes me giggle - Daf was clearly bowled over by the world's largest pencil at the Pencil Museum.  A really sweet little place full of pencil history, I loved it!

I only used my DSLR a few times during the week, when I've finished editing the photos I'll do another post (Warning, I fell in love with some ducks along the lake edge, they will probably feature quite heavily!)

This is the first time I've really been to the Lake District (apart from a brief stopover during a 3 Peaks Challenge), anyone got any recommendations for other lovely places to visit there?
