Alexa Loves : Warren House - afternoon tea and a walk in Richmond Park

Last weekend we escaped central London and spent the day at Warren House, a lovely hotel near Kingston on Thames. Our friends Emily and Joe thoughtfully gave us a voucher for Afternoon Tea here as a wedding present; this was the hotel we stayed at on the weekend we got engaged last year.  Yummy tea (thanks Em and Joe!) and a gorgeous walk in Richmond Park, with lovely memories of our previous visit (when I said "Yes!")  We tried to find the exact spot of the proposal but it was rather difficult as it was covered in deep snow last time... What a lovely way to spend a weekend and a perfect opportunity to play with my camera!

Soo much cake....

We needed to work off that food so after a little stroll round the garden, we headed out to Richmond Park.  It was a sunny but quiet afternoon and I even managed to see a deer skulking gracefully through the trees, a truly magic moment but too fast to capture on camera.

Daf grew a big moustache!

Nothing like a scramble up a tree!

The light was leaking through the trees and I don't think I had quite the right lens but I was really enjoying capturing the atmosphere.

Back to the hotel for a swim in the pool.

The next day we found the kitchen garden and orchard hiding round the back of the hotel - more surprises to photograph.
