Brighton portraits on film
In February I spent a few days in Brighton. I was super lucky to win a place on the Film is Not Dead workshop (also know as FIND). I learned to shoot fully on digital so not only did this push me out of my comfort zone, it opened up a whole new world of photography for me. While I dabble about with my beloved Diana F+ lomo and Fuji instax, and used to take all my photographs on film, even at university, these are cameras set on Auto. There's so much to learn and experiment with and I absolutely adore it...These are some the images I took that week - of my friend Dionne, and then of fellow FIND-ers and of Lizzie and Rhoddy who kindly modelled for us one of the days of the workshop...thank you so much to Jonathan Canlas for my place on the course and for being so utterly awesome and inspiring - I now shoot film for all of my own personal photography work - it slows me down, makes me look more carefully, and the excitement waiting to get the scans back from the lab is just incredible...
These were photographed on a mix of Porta 400 and 800, on my Nikon F100 camera...
